During the latest book shoot with Jane Bevan we took a trip to local craftsman Geoff Holt in Ticknall. Geoff is one of those interesting characters that you come across every once in a while. Tucked away in his workshop that is complete with decades of sawdust and cobwebs, Geoff sticks to his craft and away from modern technology, creating beautiful furniture and crafts.
The shots are for the forthcoming publication "Craft From Natural Materials". We have been following Jane and the process of her work over the past few months, capturing how her unique pieces are made. The book is due to be released next year by Bloomsbury Publishing plc and we are looking forward to seeing the results.
Jane Bevan is an artist using natural and found materials, particularly bark, thorns and twigs, which she gathers on daily walks in local woodlands. Jane carefully selects her materials and then uses traditional techniques of tying, stitching, twining, coiling and binding to make small sculptures and vessels.
